Siti’s C-Tea to hit market nationwide.

By ROY GOH

MALAYSIA’S premier pop princess Siti Nurhaliza will test her popularity in the consumer line by venturing into a new product that is made in Sabah.

The 25-year-old singer will have her identity stamped on C-Tea, a new tea product, which is expected to officially hit the market nationwide sometime this month.

This was revealed in a sneak preview on two C-Tea flavours, Pandan and Geranium, during the two-day State Level Pesta Kaamatan, or Harvest Festival, at the Hongkod Koisaan Building in Penampang, near Kota Kinabalu.

Citi Pro Resources’ (a company owned by Siti) special assistant Patricia Cynthia Kitingan, when met during the sneak preview, said C-Tea would be distributed to the retail market once it is launched.

‘The sneak preview is the first throughout the country and it has been positive,’ she said, adding that ‘there have been many inquiries on the product by both the public and distributors’.

C-Tea comes in tea bags and powder form. The tea is produced in Nalapak, Ranau.

Special Message From Siti at SitiZone.

Assalamualaikum and best wishes. Alhamdulillah, Siti Nurhaliza Fantasia Tour 2004 will take place not long from now. Although the schedule has been altered somewhat, I have tried to organise this concert tour the best way possible given the present circumstances.

InsyaAllah, my concert tour will begin in Alor Star, and later on, Kangar. The newest location is Dataran Raub, Pahang which will be held on 13th July. I really wanted to have a concert in my hometown, Kuala Lipis, however there have been some unavoidable problems that makes this dream impossible. Even so, I am glad to be able to hold the concert in Raub, neigbouring village to Kuala Lipis.

Although the concert will not be touring to every possible location, there will be one in every state. It is not possible for me to give a concert in every single location for this tour. However, I will try to give concerts in the future in places where I’ve never had the opportunity to visit.

I have yet another announcement to make, which is, my company, Siti Nurhaliza Marketing (SNM), has released a new product, CTEA. CTEA is a brand of tea which comes in two flavours, Pandan and Geranium. More flavours will be released in the future. CTEA will be on sale during the Siti Nurhaliza Fantasia Tour 2004 carnival.

The launch of CTEA is the beginning SNM’s journey in expanding my business. I hope you will give your support to my efforts. For the time being, CTEA will only be available during the SNFT carnival. In future, it will be available for commercial sale elsewhere.

SNM is creating a website dedicated to introducing this new product to you, www.ctea.info. I will inform you when the website is ready. For now, I will introduce it to you through this website.

That is all for now. Welcome to Siti Nurhaliza Fantasia Tour 2004. I hope to see you in every location I go to.

Best wishes…
In times of good and bad,
we’ll always be together…

Celebrities help out at charity do.

A CELEBRITY Brunch was held at Tasputra Perkim’s grounds last month to raise funds for the day care centre for severely handicapped children.

Among the celebrities who took part in the event were Chef Wan, Siti Nurhaliza, Fauziah Latiff, Ning Baizura, Nurul & Ajai and Ferhad.

Chef Wan conducted two workshops on “The Joy of Cheese Cake” and “The Art of Entertaining” while the other celebrities gamely manned food stalls at the day care centre’s grounds.

The event was jointly organised by moving company, Allied Pickfords Malaysia, and the Soroptimist International Club of Kuala Lumpur.

While the adults eyed the delicious food on sale, the children were given special attention at a Children’s Corner where they were treated to caramel popcorn, cotton candy and given the chance to try their hand at sand art and face painting.

The older children also took the opportunity to go on pony rides, while the younger children thoroughly enjoyed the antics of the street clown, who gave out balloons shaped like animals and flowers.

Tasputra Perkim needs RM32,000 for its monthly expenses to give specialised care to the more than 50 severely handicapped children who attend its day care centre.

Singer Siti Nurhaliza popping diet pills?

Yes, said a Malay daily report yesterday, claiming the songstress had been taking slimming tablets.

Siti, who confirmed the fact today, said she only used the pills for less than a week when she first started out in the music industry five years ago.

“”I stopped taking them because of the side effects,”" she said. “”Once during a live performance, I experienced breathing difficulties and later a doctor told me that it was the result of taking those pills.”"

Siti was thrust into the limelight after the Pierre Png-Angela De Cruz episode in Singapore recently.

Actress/TV presenter De Cruz was said to have taken diet pills believed to have caused damage to her liver. Her boyfriend Png, who stars in the sit-com Phua Chu Kang, donated part of his liver to save De Cruzs life.

“”It’s all in the past and I have learnt from it,”" Siti told reporters at a Press conference to announce a tribute concert to the late entertainer Sudirman Haji Arshad billed Siti Nurhaliza Untukmu Sudir, here today.

Asked to comment on her health, the soft-spoken Siti said: “”Frankly, I am in the pink of health. With a string of shows and album promotions, I just can’t afford to fall ill.”"

Indeed, Siti does look more radiant these days. Afterall, her contract with international cosmetic product Maybelline has just been renewed for another one year.

Meanwhile, Siti’s four-day show will be held at Istana Budaya starting May 30.

The RM600,000 show is a joint production involving Istana Budaya, EMI (M) Sdn Bhd, Siti Nurhaliza Productions and Suria Records. The two-hour concert will be produced by award-winning composer Suhaimi Mohd Zain or better known as Pak Ngah with music arrangement by Ramli M.S.

Accompanied by a 70-piece orchestra National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor of Mustafa Fuzer, Siti is expected to deliver 35 songs popularised by Sudirman.

Tickets, priced at RM250, RM200, RM150, RM100 and RM50, are available at Box-Office Istana Budaya or online at www.axcesstickets.com
